Professional coaching has become very popular in recent years, after all if one considers elite sportsmen and women, none would have achieved excellence in their chosen sport without the help of a coach.

In a sporting context coaches help their coachee to review and finesse their performance, to be the best that they can possibly be. But why should that aspiration be exclusive to the sporting world shouldn’t we all be driven by striving to be the best?

There are many coaches around and if you’re considering work with a coach, you need to be certain that you’re working with one that’s the right “fit” for you.

My focus is on behavioural change. I work with an assessment designed by Dr Dan Harrison, otherwise know as HATs.  The feedback which I have received from clients with whom I have used HATs has been really encouraging and they have appreciated the depth of conversation and insight we have achieved which has helped them to navigate through change.

Whilst I’m happy to flex my approach to suit your needs – I find that the following approach works:

  • An initial “chemistry” session. This is free of charge and is really designed to see if we can work together. I’ll guide you through the HATs assessment and explain what you need to do. There is no obligation to progress beyond this stage, but if you do..

  • At our first meeting, we’ll agree goals for the coaching session and we’ll review your HATs profile. We’ll discuss the strengths that you have and the opportunities to develop beyond and whether there are any pinch points of which you should be aware. At the end of each coaching session we’ll agree an action plan which we’ll evolve and review as our session progress.

  • The number of coaching sessions will vary, but is usually a minimum of three.

  • Our final session will include a personal action plan that you can work with after our coaching sessions have finished.

  • The investment cost varies but my rates are competitive and discounted for NFPs.

Most of my coaching work is run virtually, but I am happy to meet face to face depending on location.

At its best coaching can:

  • Provide space to identify different approaches

  • Provide support and challenge in a confidential setting.
  • Consider the impact of your behaviour.
  • Help to identify a pathway through personal or professional challenge.
